As a logistics company, we look back on a long history. As early as 1934, Cleve & Zonen was founded. Until Gerard van Pelt joined Cleve & Zonen in 1975, it was a small shipping company with few prospects. His decision to set up a container consolidation service changed everything.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n \n

Because of that golden touch and the hard work of all involved, Cleve & Zonen grew into a large, all-round family business. Today, the organization maintains many hundreds of consolidation services each month, both import and export. A great contrast to the period starting in the mid-1970s. Back then, it could easily take three weeks to fill a container and the phone would ring a few times a day at most. However, with Gerard’s vision, work ethic and ambition, and the support of his wife Thea, that quickly changed.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n \n

Relocation<\/h3>\n <\/div>\n \n

The small drive-in house soon no longer sufficed as an office, and a move to a more spacious building followed. Daughters Samantha and Mireille grew up with Cleve & Zonen. As children, the office on Van Weerden Poelmanweg lent itself perfectly to playing tag after closing time, and later the sisters earned a little money with odd jobs like folding shipping lists and putting the zip code of documents in order. These were the first steps of a career in the family business.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

There are now 150 people working at Cleve & Zonen. Some of them have been there for 30 years or more, so there is no shortage of experience. Our mission is simple: work hard, keep agreements and communicate clearly with each other and with clients. Ingredients that ensure that the forwarder is still going strong. The saying ‘act normal, you’ll be crazy enough’ certainly applies to Cleve & Zonen. There is no fuss to be seen within our organization. Rolling up your sleeves, doing your utmost every day, doing what you promise: that’s what we stand for. It may not be progressive, but it is a core value that appeals.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n \n

Clients can always rely on Cleve & Zonen. Doing business on the basis of mutual trust is very pleasant. Whatever specific wishes a client may have, we do everything we can within our wide range of services to realize them in a professional manner. Our employees all know what they are talking about. As a family business, turnover in the office is low. Once you have a permanent contact person, you can generally assume that this will remain so for a longer period of time. The fact that Cleve & Zonen is a family business reflects on the entire organization. Our corporate culture can be characterized as hands-on, with expertise and a pleasant atmosphere prevailing.
